I using triclopyr to kill bittersweet. During the dorment season I'm cuting individual vines and spraying a stong solution on the cut stump. During the growing sesaon, I'm spraying the leaves with a diluted solution. It is working very well, but it is difficult to not kill adjacent desirable plants.

For chemical control of a San Jose Scale infestation in an apple orchard, Esteem 35 WP insecticide (pyriproxyfen) plus a narrow-range oil used at delayed dormant has the greatest IPM value -- the most effective but least harmful to natural enemies, honey bees, and the environment.... And the treatment cost per acre is lower than most alternatives.
