Serenade ASO - Bacillus subtilis Biofungicide/Bactericide for Organic & Conventional Disease Management

Serenade ASO from Bayer CropScience is a broad-spectrum biological fungicide and bactericide powered by Bacillus subtilis strain QST 713 (1.34%, minimum 1 x 10exp9 cfu/g) - a naturally occurring soil bacterium classified as a Group BM02 microbial fungicide. Serenade ASO colonizes the plant as it grows, preventing the establishment of disease-causing fungi and bacteria on both foliage and roots, while also supporting improved nutrient utilization and plant tolerance to environmental stress. Approved For Organic Use, it's equally suited to conventional programs as a tank-mix or rotational partner. With a 0-day pre-harvest interval on every labeled crop and one of the broadest crop labels available - spanning nearly every major fruit, vegetable, nut, oilseed, cereal, and specialty crop group - Serenade ASO is a flexible, resistance-conscious addition to almost any disease management program.

Key Benefits

  • Approved for Organic Use - a biologically active ingredient suitable for certified organic production, while remaining fully effective in conventional tank-mix and rotational programs.
  • Broad-spectrum disease control - controls or suppresses fungal and bacterial diseases including powdery mildew, downy mildew, gray mold (Botrytis), early and late blight, bacterial spot/speck, anthracnose, rust, and many soil-borne pathogens (Pythium, Phytophthora, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, Verticillium).
  • 0-day PHI on every crop - can be applied right up to and including the day of harvest across the entire label.
  • Supports overall plant health - as the root system develops, Serenade ASO colonizes alongside it, improving nutrient utilization and helping plants tolerate drought, heat, and cold stress.
  • Foliar or soil application - apply as a foliar spray, soil drench, in-furrow, side-dress, shanked-in, or chemigated (sprinkler or drip) depending on target disease.
  • Exceptionally broad crop label - registered across field crops, vegetables, tree fruit and nuts, citrus, grapes, berries, tropical fruit, herbs, cereal grains, oilseeds, and more.

Crops & Representative Rates

Serenade ASO is labeled on nearly every major crop group. Standard foliar and soil rates are 2–4 qt/acre solo, or 1–4 qt/acre tank-mixed for most crops; several crop groups (soybeans, legume vegetables, cereal grains, and a few others) use a lower 0.5–4 qt/acre range. A sample of labeled crop groups:

  • Fruiting vegetables (tomato, pepper, eggplant): early/late blight, bacterial spot/speck, gray mold, powdery mildew (foliar); Pythium, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium (soil)
  • Cucurbit vegetables: downy mildew, powdery mildew, anthracnose, gummy stem blight (foliar); soil-borne rots (soil)
  • Pome fruit, stone fruit, tree nuts, citrus: fire blight, brown rot, scab, powdery mildew, bacterial canker/spot (foliar); root and crown rots (soil)
  • Grapes: downy mildew, powdery mildew, black rot, Botrytis (foliar); Armillaria and other root rots (soil)
  • Berries, strawberries: anthracnose, Botrytis, powdery mildew, angular leaf spot (foliar); black root rot complex (soil)
  • Soybeans, legume vegetables: white mold, rust, downy mildew, bacterial pustule (foliar, 0.5–4 qt/A); root rot complex (soil)
  • Cereal grains, root/tuber vegetables, brassicas, leafy greens, bulb vegetables, herbs, oilseeds, tropical fruit, and more: see the full label for the complete disease list by crop

Apply in 3–20 gal/acre of water for aerial application or sufficient water for thorough coverage by ground; adjust rate and interval upward under moderate-to-heavy disease pressure. Maintain spray solution pH between 4.5 and 8.5. As with any Group BM02 product, integrate into a broader resistance management program with rotation and/or tank-mixing.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.
