Tigris Sulfen 4 SC Herbicide - Sulfentrazone 39.6% Soil-Applied Herbicide for Soybeans, Corn, Peanuts & Specialty Crops

Tigris Sulfen 4 SC from Tigris, LLC is a flowable suspension concentrate containing sulfentrazone at 39.6% (4 lb ai/gallon) - a Group 14 PPO inhibitor that provides soil-applied, residual control of broadleaf weeds, grasses, and nutsedge before or shortly after they emerge. Sulfentrazone works by inhibiting an enzyme plants need to produce chlorophyll, triggering a buildup of singlet oxygen that ruptures cell membranes and kills susceptible seedlings as they emerge through the treated soil zone. Because sulfentrazone has a much greater affinity for this enzyme in weeds than in tolerant crops, Tigris Sulfen 4 SC provides selective control across a wide range of labeled crops - including soybeans, field corn, peanuts, potatoes, strawberries, and many vegetable and specialty crops - making it a dependable residual foundation for season-long weed management and resistance rotation programs.

Key Benefits

  • Broad-spectrum residual control - controls key resistant species including Palmer amaranth, waterhemp, common lambsquarters, kochia (ALS- and triazine-resistant), morningglory species, and yellow/purple nutsedge.
  • Wide crop label - registered for soybeans, field corn (PRO herbicide-tolerant varieties), peanuts (southeastern U.S.), potatoes, strawberries, dry beans and peas, melons, mint, fruiting vegetables, brassicas, asparagus, flax, and more.
  • Flexible application timing - labeled for fall preplant, early preplant, preplant incorporated, preemergence, and select postemergence/layby uses depending on crop.
  • Rate-tiered by soil type - use rates scale with soil texture (coarse, medium, fine) and organic matter content, allowing precise, cost-effective dosing for the field.
  • Ground, aerial, and chemigation options - apply by ground, air, sprinkler chemigation, or impregnated on dry bulk fertilizer, depending on the crop.

Crops & Application Rates

Rates scale with soil texture (coarse, medium, fine) and organic matter (OM) content - use lower rates on coarse, low-OM soils and higher rates on fine-textured or high-OM soils; use lower rates within a range on higher-pH soils:

  • Soybeans: 4.5-12.0 fl oz/A; fall, preplant incorporated, or preemergence (up to 3 days after planting); max 12.0 fl oz/A/12 months
  • Field Corn (PRO herbicide-tolerant varieties only): 3.0-8.0 fl oz/A; fall, early preplant, preplant incorporated, or early postemergence; max 12.0 fl oz/A/12 months
  • Peanuts (AL, GA, MS, NC, SC, VA only): 4.8-9.6 fl oz/A tiered by target weed spectrum; preplant incorporated up to 14 days before planting, at-plant, or up to 12 hours after planting; max 9.6 fl oz/A/12 months
  • Potatoes: 3.0-8.0 fl oz/A preemergence only (ground, air, or chemigation); do not apply after emergence; max 8.0 fl oz/A/12 months
  • Strawberries: 2.25-12.0 fl oz/A preemergence prior to seedling emergence; max 8.0 fl oz/A per application, 12.0 fl oz/A/12 months
  • Dry beans & peas, melons, mint, fruiting vegetables, brassicas, asparagus, flax, horseradish, and other listed crops: Rates and timing vary by crop - refer to the crop-specific tables on the full label

Do not use on soils with less than 1% organic matter (sand). Do not incorporate deeper than 2 inches. Activation requires 0.5-1 inch of rainfall or irrigation within 7-10 days of application. Rotational crop intervals range from 4 months (small grains) to 24 months (canola); most other crops require a 12-month minimum interval - consult the full label's rotational crop table before planting.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.
