Contigo 600 SC Insecticide - Chlorantraniliprole 47.85% Suspension Concentrate for Long-Lasting Lepidoptera Control

Contigo 600 SC Insecticide from Atticus LLC is a highly concentrated suspension concentrate formulated with chlorantraniliprole at 47.85% - delivering 5 lb active ingredient per gallon - and containing the same active ingredient used in Vantacor and Coragen eVo. Chlorantraniliprole is an anthranilic diamide insecticide (IRAC Group 28) that targets insect ryanodine receptors, causing uncontrolled calcium release in muscle cells, rapid cessation of feeding, paralysis, and death of susceptible insects within 1–3 days. Its mode of action is highly selective for insect ryanodine receptors over mammalian receptors, contributing to a favorable human safety profile and minimal impact on beneficial insects and pollinators when used as directed. Contigo 600 SC provides residual control of Lepidoptera and other listed pests across a wide range of field crops, vegetables, and specialty crops, with flexible application options including foliar spray, multiple at-plant methods, drip chemigation, and overhead sprinkler chemigation on certain crops. At 47.85% AI, Contigo 600 SC is among the most concentrated chlorantraniliprole formulations commercially available, providing more active ingredient per gallon and lower per-acre spray volume requirements compared to lower-concentration CTPR products.

Key Benefits

  • Highly concentrated 47.85% formulation - at 5 lb ai/gal, Contigo 600 SC delivers more active ingredient per gallon than lower-concentration chlorantraniliprole products, with correspondingly lower per-acre product volumes and reduced packaging for large-acreage programs.
  • Long-lasting residual control - chlorantraniliprole's unique mode of action provides extended residual protection after application, reducing the number of applications needed and supporting season-long management programs.
  • Targeted Lepidoptera spectrum - highly effective against caterpillars and worm pests, including corn earworm, European corn borer, fall armyworm, black cutworm, tobacco budworm, tomato fruitworm, potato tuberworm, and many others; also controls certain beetle and fly pests as listed on the label.
  • Favorable human and environmental safety profile - no signal word on the label; minimal PPE requirements; low toxicity to mammals; toxic to aquatic invertebrates, so standard buffer requirements apply near water bodies.
  • Minimal impact on beneficial insects - highly selective for insect ryanodine receptors; does not present the same hazard to natural enemies, pollinators, and biological control agents as broad-spectrum insecticides when used as directed.
  • Flexible application methods - labeled for foliar (ground and aerial), in-furrow spray, transplant water treatment, hill drench, surface band, soil shank injection, drip chemigation, and overhead sprinkler chemigation on specified crops; most soil application methods are not registered for use in California.
  • Broad crop label - registered for corn, soybeans, potatoes, tomatoes, tobacco, brassicas, leafy vegetables, fruiting vegetables, peanuts, sugarcane, small grains, cotton, and many more; see full label for the complete crop list.
  • IPM-compatible - works well within structured IPM programs; supports resistance management through rotation with non-Group 28 chemistries using the "treatment window" approach.

Contigo 600 SC is registered for use across a wide range of agricultural crops. Key crop groups and primary target pests include:

  • Corn: European corn borer, black cutworm, corn earworm, fall armyworm, southwestern corn borer, western bean cutworm, and others
  • Soybeans: Green cloverworm, soybean looper, velvetbean caterpillar, and other lepidopterous pests
  • Potatoes: Potato tuberworm, Colorado potato beetle (larvae), European corn borer, and others
  • Tomatoes & Fruiting Vegetables: Tomato fruitworm/corn earworm, hornworms, fruitworms, loopers, and others
  • Tobacco: Tobacco budworm, tobacco hornworm, and others
  • Brassica & Leafy Vegetables: Diamondback moth, imported cabbageworm, cabbage looper, and others
  • Cotton, Peanuts, Sugarcane, Small Grains, and others: See the full label for complete crop-specific pest lists, application rates, and PHIs

Not for use on ornamental plants, plants grown for transplanting, or residential sites. Not for use in nurseries, plant propagation houses, or non-specified greenhouses. This product is for agricultural use only.

Application Rates & Timing

Time applications to the most susceptible pest stage - typically at egg lay, egg hatch, or early larval emergence - before populations reach damaging thresholds. Because Contigo 600 SC acts primarily through ingestion, thorough, uniform spray coverage of plant tissue is essential. Use a well-calibrated measuring device appropriate for the low volumes required by this high-concentration product:

  • Typical foliar rate range: 1.2–2.5 fl oz per acre for most row crop uses (e.g., corn earworm, fall armyworm in corn); specific rates vary by crop and pest - always refer to the crop-specific use directions on the label
  • Annual maximum: Do not apply more than 0.2 lb ai chlorantraniliprole per acre per year from all chlorantraniliprole-containing products combined
  • Resistance management - treatment window approach:
    • Make no more than 2 successive applications of Contigo 600 SC or other Group 28 insecticides within a single treatment window (~one pest generation, approximately 30 days)
    • After a Group 28 treatment window, rotate to products with a different mode of action for approximately one pest generation
    • Total Group 28 exposure should not exceed approximately 50% of the crop cycle or 50% of total insecticide applications for the same pest
  • Ground application: Minimum 30 gallons per acre unless otherwise specified in the crop section; do not use air agitation
  • Aerial application: Minimum 2–10 gallons per acre, depending on crop group; do not release spray more than 10 feet above the canopy
  • At-plant soil methods (in-furrow, hill drench, surface band, shank injection, drip chemigation): Available for labeled crops; not registered for use in California
  • PHI: Varies by crop - refer to the crop-specific use directions on the label for the applicable pre-harvest interval
  • Tank mixing: Compatible with most labeled pesticides; add Contigo 600 SC as a suspension concentrate (position 5 in the standard tank-mix sequence). May be tank-mixed with certain liquid fertilizers for at-plant soil applications; do not mix directly with pure liquid fertilizers. Always perform a jar test before new combinations.

Aquatic advisory: Contigo 600 SC is toxic to aquatic invertebrates, oysters, and shrimp. Do not apply directly to water. Maintain a vegetative buffer strip between treated areas and surface water features. Avoid applications when rainfall is forecast within 48 hours. This product has high potential to reach surface water via runoff and may leach into groundwater in areas with permeable soils or shallow water tables.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.

Why Professionals Choose Contigo 600 SC

Chlorantraniliprole has established itself as one of the most effective and IPM-compatible tools in modern insect management - with a mode of action that is highly selective for Lepidoptera and other worm pests while preserving beneficials and pollinators that conventional broad-spectrum insecticides can disrupt. Contigo 600 SC delivers that proven chemistry in the most concentrated commercially available SC formulation, giving growers and applicators more active ingredient per gallon, lower per-acre volumes, and a cost-competitive alternative to branded CTPR products. The flexible application platform - spanning foliar, at-plant, chemigation, and aerial - combined with a broad crop label and a favorable safety profile, makes Contigo 600 SC a practical, high-value tool for worm pest management across the full range of field and specialty crop operations.
