EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate - 5% Botanical Pyrethrin Insecticide for Agricultural, Commercial & Food-Handling Use

EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate from MGK (McLaughlin Gormley King Company) is a broad-spectrum, botanical insecticide formulated with 5% pyrethrins - the naturally derived active ingredient extracted from chrysanthemum-family flowers - with no synthetic synergist. Pyrethrins are fast-acting sodium channel modulators (IRAC Group 3A) that deliver rapid knockdown and contact kill of over 140 insect pest species while degrading quickly in sunlight and leaving no residual chemical accumulation in treated environments. EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate is OMRI Listed for use in certified organic production, making it one of the few concentrate-grade insecticides approved for both conventional and organic agricultural programs. It is labeled for an exceptionally broad range of use sites spanning indoor and outdoor agricultural settings, food-handling and food-processing facilities, livestock and poultry premises, greenhouses, ornamentals, grain storage, and a wide range of commercial and institutional locations - all from a single product with a straightforward water-dilution mixing protocol.

Key Benefits

  • OMRI Listed - approved for certified organic production - pyrethrins are a botanical active ingredient derived from a natural source and are approved for use in OMRI-certified organic crop production programs, making EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate one of the most versatile organic-approved insecticide concentrates available.
  • Fast knockdown and contact kill of 140+ insects - pyrethrins act immediately on the insect nervous system through sodium channel disruption, providing rapid paralysis and kill on contact with minimal delay between application and visible results.
  • No residual accumulation - degrades rapidly in sunlight - pyrethrins break down quickly under UV exposure, leaving no long-term chemical residue in treated environments; ideal for use in sensitive accounts where residual insecticide accumulation is undesirable or not permitted.
  • No synergist - pyrethrins only - EverGreen contains 5% pyrethrins with no added piperonyl butoxide (PBO) or other synthetic synergist, preserving the natural botanical profile of the active ingredient for use in programs where synergist-free formulations are required.
  • Labeled for food-handling and food-processing areas - registered for use in food and non-food areas of food handling, processing, and storage facilities when applied according to label directions, including USDA-inspected facilities.
  • Extremely wide use site label - a single product covers indoor residential and commercial spaces, food-processing plants, livestock and poultry facilities, greenhouses, outdoor growing crops, ornamentals, grain storage, and more; see the full use site list below.
  • Flexible application methods - labeled for surface spray, crack and crevice, space spray/fog with ULV cold foggers, high-volume lawn and landscape applications, and aerial application for greenhouse and outdoor crop use.
  • Tank-mix compatible - can be combined with other registered insecticides, acaricides, fungicides, adjuvants, and wetting agents, allowing integration into existing spray programs or customized tank-mix solutions for expanded pest spectrum.
  • One gallon treats up to 28 acres - concentrated formula provides excellent dilution economy for large-acreage or high-volume commercial programs.

Application Rates & Directions

Dilute EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate in water only - do not mix with oil-based carriers. Buffer the final spray mix to a pH of 5.5–7.0 for maximum pyrethrin stability; outside this range pyrethrins degrade and the product loses effectiveness. Apply when target insects are first observed; do not wait until plants or premises are heavily infested. To minimize impact on beneficial insects and pollinators, apply when non-target insects are least active:

  • Greenhouse and nursery growing crops: 4.5–18 fl oz per acre applied by ground equipment in sufficient water for thorough coverage; or by air at 4.5–18 fl oz per acre in a minimum of 20 gallons of water. Do not apply more than once per day.
  • Outdoor growing crops (field use): Dilute per the crop-specific rate directions on the label; one gallon of concentrate treats up to 28 acres at label rates.
  • Space spray/ULV fogger: Use per the rate directions on the label for the specific site; apply as a fine mist or fog to thoroughly treat the space. Remove or cover exposed food before application in food handling areas. Do not remain in treated area after application.
  • Surface spray, crack and crevice, and premise spray: Apply as a fine spray, mist, or coarse wet spray to target surfaces and pest-harboring sites according to label directions for the specific use site.
  • On animals (livestock and poultry): Apply per label directions for the specific animal species; do not use directly on companion animals (dogs, cats, puppies, or kittens).
  • Tank mixing: Compatible with other registered insecticides, acaricides, fungicides, adjuvants, and wetting agents. Always conduct a jar compatibility test before new combinations. Follow the more restrictive label limitations when combining products.
  • Phytotoxicity: Before making widespread applications on ornamental or greenhouse crops, treat a limited number of plants and observe for phytotoxicity over a 10-day period, particularly with new plant varieties or tank-mix combinations.

Do not use on companion animals (dogs, cats). Do not use in outdoor residential misting systems. Do not apply during rain. Do not apply to impervious horizontal surfaces except as a spot or crack and crevice treatment. Do not wet plants to the point of runoff or drip. Remove pets, birds, and cover fish aquariums before application indoors.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.

Why Professionals Choose EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate

EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate fills a role that few other insecticides can: a fast-acting, broad-spectrum concentrate that is equally at home in a certified organic field program, a food-processing facility, a commercial poultry house, and a residential pest management account - all under a single label. The synergist-free 5% pyrethrins formula respects the botanical origins that organic certification demands, while the rapid UV degradation profile makes it a practical choice for sensitive accounts where residual accumulation is unacceptable. For pest management professionals and agricultural operators who need flexibility, OMRI approval, and reliable knockdown without the regulatory footprint of a synthetic pyrethroid, EverGreen Pyrethrum Concentrate is the benchmark product that MGK's decades of botanical insecticide development have produced.
