Proclaim Insecticide - Emamectin Benzoate 5% Soluble Granule for Lepidoptera & Leafminer Control in Specialty Crops

RESTRICTED USE PESTICIDE - Purchase requires a valid pesticide applicator's license. A copy of your license must be on file with Keystone Pest Solutions prior to purchase. For retail sale to and use only by Certified Applicators, or persons under their direct supervision and only for those uses covered by the Certified Applicator's certification.

Proclaim Insecticide from Syngenta is a soluble granule formulated with emamectin benzoate at 5% - a macrocyclic lactone (IRAC Group 6) derived from Streptomyces avermitilis fermentation that activates chloride channels in insect nerve and muscle cells, causing rapid paralysis and death of susceptible larvae within 2-4 days of ingestion. Proclaim is most efficacious as an ingested toxicant and is rapidly absorbed into treated leaf tissue, providing translaminar activity that reaches larvae feeding on the undersides of leaves. It is the go-to labeled solution for caterpillar and worm control in pome fruits, tree nuts, fruiting vegetables, brassicas, leafy vegetables, cucurbits, and cherries - with a unique Group 6 mode of action that makes it a high-value rotation partner for resistance management in programs relying on pyrethroids, diamides, or organophosphates. Applications should target small larvae (under ¼ inch) at first observation for best results; do not apply following the failure of another product when larvae are already large.

Key Benefits

  • Translaminar activity - rapidly absorbed into leaf tissue and provides contact and ingestion activity, including on larvae feeding inside the canopy or on leaf undersides.
  • Group 6 mode of action - chloride channel activation is distinct from pyrethroids (Group 3A), diamides (Group 28), spinosyns (Group 5), and organophosphates (Group 1B); a high-value rotation partner for resistance management in multi-generation pest programs.
  • Broad crop and pest label - controls key Lepidoptera, leafminers, and (suppression) spider mites across pome fruits, tree nuts, cherries, fruiting vegetables, brassicas, leafy greens, cucurbits, and herbs.
  • Easy on beneficials - primary activity is through ingestion rather than contact, preserving natural enemies and pollinators in the canopy when applied correctly and not to blooming plants.
  • No rotational crop restrictions - treated areas may be replanted with any crop as soon as practical following the last application; no plant-back interval.

Technical Information

  • Active Ingredient: Emamectin benzoate - 5.0%

  • Pome Fruits (apple, pear, quince, crabapple, and others): 3.2-4.8 oz/A; controls leafrollers, fruitworms, bud moths, cankerworms, orange tortrix, leafminers; east of Rockies first-gen only for codling moth, lesser appleworm, oriental fruit moth; suppression of pear psylla and spider mites; ground only; PHI 14 days; max 14.4 oz/A/year
  • Tree Nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, pecans, hazelnuts, and others): 3.2-4.8 oz/A; controls navel orangeworm, peach twig borer, codling moth, leafrollers, filbertworm, pecan casebearer, walnut caterpillar, and others; suppression of spider mites; ground only; PHI 14 days; max 14.4 oz/A/year
  • Cherry (sweet, tart, Nanking, and others): 3.2-4.8 oz/A; obliquebanded leafroller; ground only; minimum 40 gal/A; PHI 7 days; max 14.4 oz/A/year
  • Fruiting Vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, okra, tomatillo, and others): 2.4-4.8 oz/A; controls armyworms, hornworms, tomato pinworm, tobacco budworm, tomato fruitworm, loopers; suppression of Liriomyza leafminers; PHI 7 days; max 14.4 oz/A/year
  • Brassica Head & Stem Vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and others): 2.4-4.8 oz/A; controls diamondback moth, armyworms, imported cabbageworm, cabbage webworm, corn earworm, loopers; suppression of Liriomyza leafminers; PHI 7 days; max 19.2 oz/A/year
  • Brassica Leafy Greens, Leafy Greens, Cucurbits, Herbs, and other listed crop groups: 2.4-4.8 oz/A; PHIs and annual maximums vary by crop group - see full label for crop-specific details

Application notes: Use a non-ionic, activator-type surfactant or horticultural spray oil (not dormant oil) as an adjuvant for all applications. Do not use sticker/binder adjuvants - these reduce translaminar movement. Do not tank mix with Bravo Weather Stik or other sticker-containing fungicides. Do not apply through any irrigation system. Do not apply by air to cherry, pome fruit, or tree nut crops. Do not apply by air in New York State for any crop. Do not apply to plants in greenhouses or nurseries.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.
