Glufosinate 280SL Herbicide - Glufosinate-Ammonium 24.5% Non-Selective Burndown & Post-Emergence Control (Tigris & Axill Solutions)

Glufosinate 280SL is a soluble liquid, non-selective herbicide formulated with glufosinate-ammonium at 24.5% (2.34 lb ai/gallon; 280 g/L) - a Group 10 herbicide that delivers fast, broad-spectrum contact control of emerged broadleaf, grass, and sedge weeds, including many glyphosate-resistant biotypes. Leaves and young shoots typically show necrosis within 2-4 days under good growing conditions, and the product is rainfast in about 4 hours. It's labeled for foliar spray in bushberries, citrus, olives, pome and stone fruit, tree nuts, and grapes; for post-emergence broadcast use in LibertyLink® (glufosinate-tolerant) canola, corn, cotton, soybeans, and sugar beets; for hooded-sprayer use in conventional cotton; for pre-plant and pre-emergence burndown ahead of any variety of those crops; and for potato vine desiccation, fallow fields, and non-crop areas. Available from Keystone under both the Tigris and Axill Solutions labels - same active ingredient, same concentration, same use patterns.

Key Benefits

  • Fast, visible burndown - contact and foliar activity with symptoms in 2-4 days; no soil residual, so planting is flexible.
  • A different mode of action - Group 10 gives growers and orchardists an effective tool against glyphosate-resistant weeds and a valuable rotation partner for resistance management.
  • Broad crop label - tree, nut, vine, and berry crops; LibertyLink canola, corn, cotton, soybeans, and sugar beets; potato vine desiccation; fallow; and non-crop areas.
  • Burndown ahead of any variety - may be applied before planting or before crop emergence on conventional or LibertyLink canola, corn, cotton, soybeans, and sugar beets.
  • Sucker control and seed-propagation uses - labeled for sucker control in tree, vine, and berry crops and for rogueing non-trait segregates in canola, corn, cotton, and soybean seed production.
  • Tank-mix flexible - can be paired with residual or broader-spectrum partners registered for the same use site; no added surfactant needed in tree, vine, and berry tank mixes.

Crops, Rates & Timing

Apply to small, actively growing weeds (ideally 3 inches or less) with thorough coverage - the product has foliar activity only, so weeds that emerge after application are not controlled. Use at least 15 gal/A by ground (up to 20 gal/A in heavy canopy). Row-crop post-emergence use is for LibertyLink / glufosinate-tolerant varieties only; non-trait crops will be severely injured. Rates are consistent between the two labels except where noted - always follow the label on the container you are using:

  • Berry, tree, nut, vine & citrus crops: 48 fl oz/A (weeds under 3"), 56 fl oz/A (weeds under 6" or pre-tiller grasses), 56-82 fl oz/A (weeds over 6" or tillered grasses); spot/directed spray at 1.7 fl oz per gallon of water. Avoid contact with green bark, foliage, or suckers; only mature, calloused brown bark may be contacted. Max 82 fl oz/A per application; 164 fl oz/A/yr (bushberries, stone fruit) or 246 fl oz/A/yr (tree nuts, vines, pome fruit, citrus, olives); PHI 14 days; ground application only
  • LibertyLink canola & field corn: 22 fl oz/A post-emergence with ammonium sulfate (about 3 lb/A); up to 2 applications/yr; PHI 65 days (canola) and 60-70 days (corn, by forage/grain); sweet corn 20-22 fl oz/A, PHI 50 days (ears)
  • LibertyLink soybeans: 22-29 fl oz/A from emergence up to just before bloom; PHI 70 days
  • Cotton (LibertyLink in-season; hooded sprayer only on conventional): 22-29 fl oz/A per application; PHI 70 days; not for use south of Route 60 in Florida or in Hawaii except test plots/breeding nurseries
  • LibertyLink sugar beets: up to roughly 30 fl oz/A per application, cotyledon to 10-leaf stage; PHI 60 days (see label - rates differ slightly between the two labels)
  • Pre-plant / pre-emergence burndown (canola, corn, cotton, soybeans, sugar beets): about 29 fl oz/A up to 36-43 fl oz/A depending on crop and label; one burndown application per year
  • Potato vine desiccation: 21 fl oz/A, one application per year, after natural senescence begins; PHI 9 days. Seed potatoes: the Tigris label prohibits use on potatoes grown for seed; the Axill label permits it; confirm against the label on your container
  • Fallow fields & non-crop areas: 22-29 fl oz/A for fallow (ammonium sulfate required); non-crop vegetation management at up to 82 fl oz/A per application - see label for site-specific rates

Mix by filling the tank with water, starting agitation, adding AMS (when required) and any tank-mix partners, then adding Glufosinate 280SL; use 50-mesh or coarser screens. Do not use nitrogen solutions as spray carriers in row crops. Do not apply through any irrigation system. Do not use air-assisted equipment, flood-jet nozzles, or controlled-droplet applicators. Avoid cultivating from 5 days before to 7 days after application. Not for use in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York. Rotational crop intervals are 0 days for canola, corn, cotton, soybeans, and sugar beets; 70 days for root/tuber, leafy, and brassica vegetables and small grains; and 180 days for all other crops.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.
