Zannis SC Herbicide - Pyroxasulfone 41.46% Residual Preemergence Herbicide for Corn, Soybeans, Cotton & More (generic Zidua SC)

Zannis SC from Atticus LLC is a suspension concentrate herbicide formulated with pyroxasulfone at 41.46% (4.17 lb ai/gallon) - the same active ingredient used in Zidua SC - delivering extended residual control of grass and broadleaf weeds that reduce yield potential in soybeans, corn, cotton, wheat, and a wide range of other row and specialty crops. As a Group 15 very-long-chain fatty acid (VLCFA) inhibitor, pyroxasulfone controls susceptible germinating seedlings before or shortly after emergence - including biotypes resistant to ACCase inhibitors, ALS inhibitors, and glyphosate - making it a valuable residual foundation layer for resistance management programs. Zannis SC does not control already-emerged weeds, so it is best used as a residual base layer alone or tank-mixed with a burndown partner. Growers appreciate the flexible application timings (preplant, preemergence, early postemergence, layby, and fall) and exceptionally low use rates that stretch product further than many other residual herbicides.

Key Benefits

  • Same active ingredient as Zidua SC - pyroxasulfone at the same 4.17 lb ai/gallon concentration, at a generic price point.
  • Extended residual control - controls annual grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds before or shortly after emergence, including ACCase-, ALS-, and glyphosate-resistant biotypes.
  • Exceptionally low use rates - most crops use as little as 1.75-5 fl oz/acre depending on soil texture, stretching product further than many other residual herbicides.
  • Flexible application timing - labeled for preplant surface, preplant incorporated, preemergence, early postemergence, postemergence-directed (layby), and fall/winter application depending on crop.
  • Broad crop label - registered for corn, soybeans, cotton, wheat, peanuts, sunflower, potatoes, chickpea, dry bulb onions, safflower, mint, and more.
  • Ground, aerial, and chemigation application - labeled for sprinkler and drip chemigation on many crops, plus dry bulk fertilizer impregnation for select uses.

Technical Information

Crops & Application Rates

Rates vary by soil texture (coarse, medium, fine) - use the low end of the range on coarse/low-OM soils and the high end on fine-textured or high-OM soils. Zannis SC must be activated by at least ½ inch of rainfall or irrigation before weed emergence and does not control already-emerged weeds:

  • Corn (field, seed, silage, sweet, pop): 2.5-6.5 fl oz/A preplant, preemergence, or early postemergence (spiking to V8); max cumulative 4.5 oz/A/yr (coarse) or 8.25 oz/A/yr (medium/fine)
  • Soybeans: 1.75-5.75 fl oz/A preplant, preemergence, or early postemergence (cracking to 6th trifoliate); max cumulative 3.5 oz/A/yr (coarse) or 5.75 oz/A/yr (medium/fine)
  • Cotton: 1.25-3.5 fl oz/A postemergence-directed (layby) or via impregnated dry fertilizer/chemigation; single application only; max 3.5 oz/A/yr
  • Wheat (fall- or spring-seeded, non-durum): 1.0-4.0 fl oz/A depending on timing and soil texture; max cumulative 4.0 oz/A/yr; do not apply preplant incorporated
  • Peanut: 2.5-3.5 fl oz/A early postemergence (at-cracking to first true leaf); max cumulative 8.25 oz/A/yr
  • Sunflower: 1.75-6.5 fl oz/A depending on timing and soil texture; max cumulative 8.25 oz/A/yr (medium/fine)
  • Potato: 2.5-4.0 fl oz/A preemergence only; single application; do not apply to emerging or emerged potato
  • Chickpea, dry bulb onion, safflower, mint, leek, celery, and other listed crops: see full label for crop-specific rates, timing, and restrictions

Rotational crop intervals range from 0 months (corn, soybean at low rates) to 18+ months for unlisted crops - consult Table 4 on the label before planting any rotational crop. Not for sale, distribution, or use in Nassau or Suffolk counties of New York State. Do not use flood irrigation to apply or incorporate.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.
