Honcho K6 Herbicide - High-Concentration Potassium Salt Glyphosate for Broad-Spectrum Weed Control

Honcho K6 is a professional-grade, non-selective, systemic glyphosate herbicide formulated as the potassium (K) salt of glyphosate at 48.7%, equivalent to 4.5 lb acid equivalent per gallon (5.5 lb/gal as the potassium salt). The potassium salt formulation delivers superior solubility and tank stability compared to isopropylamine (IPA) salt formulations, making it a high-performance choice for both agricultural and non-crop weed management programs. Honcho K6 includes a built-in surfactant, so no additional surfactant is needed when used as the sole pesticide in the tank. It provides broad-spectrum postemergence control of annual and perennial weeds, woody brush, trees, and vines, with no soil residual activity.

Key Benefits

  • High-load potassium salt formulation - 48.7% glyphosate as the potassium salt (4.5 lb ae/gal) delivers excellent solubility and rainfastness compared to standard IPA salt glyphosates.
  • Surfactant included - formulated with a built-in surfactant for enhanced leaf coverage and uptake; no additional surfactant is needed when Honcho K6 is the only pesticide in the spray tank.
  • Systemic, postemergence activity - absorbed through foliage and translocated throughout the plant into the root system for thorough control of both top growth and underground plant parts.
  • No soil residual - binds tightly to soil particles after application with no soil activity; only emerged weeds at the time of application are controlled, allowing replanting flexibility.
  • Broad-spectrum control - controls a wide range of annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, woody brush, trees, and vines across many use sites.
  • Roundup Ready crop compatible - labeled for selective broad-spectrum weed control in Roundup Ready corn, soybeans, cotton, canola, alfalfa, sugarbeets, and other specified glyphosate-tolerant crops.
  • Tank-mix compatible - can be combined with 2,4-D, dicamba, residual herbicides, and other labeled products for expanded spectrum or burndown programs.

Technical Information

  • Active Ingredient: Glyphosate, N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, potassium salt - 48.7% (5.5 lb/gal as potassium salt; 4.5 lb ae/gal)
  • Surfactant: Included in formulation, no additional surfactant needed when used alone
  • Formulation: Water-Soluble Liquid (SL)
  • Herbicide Group: 9 (EPSP synthase inhibitor)
  • EPA Reg. No.: 524-539
  • Re-Entry Interval (REI): 4 hours

Use Sites & Target Vegetation

For use in/on: Roundup Ready and specified glyphosate-tolerant crops (corn, soybeans, cotton, canola, alfalfa, sugarbeets, and others); conventional annual and perennial crops (cereal and grain crops, corn, cotton, grain sorghum, oilseeds, soybeans, sugarcane, vegetable crops, and more); tree, vine, and shrub crops; pastures, rangeland, CRP acres, and forage legumes; farmstead weed control (trim-and-edge, fence rows, greenhouse/shadehouse, chemical mowing, cut stump); and a broad range of non-crop and industrial vegetation management sites as listed on the label.

Controls/Suppresses: Most annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds, woody brush, trees, and vines as listed on the label, including foxtails, barnyardgrass, crabgrass, ryegrass, pigweed, lambsquarters, morningglory, velvetleaf, Palmer amaranth, waterhemp, johnsongrass, quackgrass, bindweed, nutsedge, bermudagrass, and many others.

Application Rates & Timing

Apply postemergence to actively growing weeds using ground, aerial, or handheld equipment. Weeds must be emerged at the time of application. For maximum effectiveness, apply at least 4 hours before expected rainfall or irrigation. Use higher labeled rates when weed growth is heavy or dense, or when treating weeds in undisturbed (non-cultivated) areas:

  • Annual weeds: Generally 11-22 fl oz/acre for most species; refer to the Annual Weeds Rate Section of the label for species-specific guidance.
  • Perennial weeds: Generally 22-44 fl oz/acre depending on species and growth stage; best control is achieved when applied at late growth stages approaching maturity.
  • Woody brush, trees & vines: Generally 44-88 fl oz/acre broadcast or as directed treatments; refer to the Woody Brush, Trees and Vines Rate Section for species-specific rates and cut-stump methods.
  • Roundup Read and glyphosate-tolerant crops: Rates and timing vary by crop and growth stage; refer to the crop-specific sections of the label. Do not exceed 5.3 quarts/acre per single application where applicable.
  • Ground application: Apply in 10-20 gallons of water per acre for most uses unless otherwise directed.
  • Aerial application: Apply in 3-15 gallons of water per acre; maximum single aerial application rate is 44 fl oz/acre.
  • Annual maximum: Do not exceed 8 quarts/acre/year for crop sites; up to 10.6 quarts/acre/year for non-crop, tree, vine, and shrub sites.
  • Surfactant note: Do not add additional surfactants, buffering agents, or pH adjusters when Honcho K6 is the only pesticide in the tank, unless otherwise directed. When tank-mixing with other pesticides, follow the label requirements of the other products regarding surfactant use.

Do not mix, store, or apply this product in galvanized steel or unlined steel containers or spray tanks; reaction with these materials produces flammable hydrogen gas. Do not apply directly to water. Observe all crop-specific pre-harvest intervals, REI requirements, and state-specific restrictions as listed on the label.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.
