Ranger Pro Herbicide - Glyphosate 41% Non-Selective Weed & Brush Control with Built-In Surfactant

Ranger Pro from Bayer is a professional-grade, non-selective systemic herbicide formulated with 41.0% glyphosate (isopropylamine salt) — 3 lb acid equivalent per gallon. It is absorbed through the foliage and carried throughout the plant to the roots, killing annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, vines, brush, and trees right down to the root system. Because the surfactant is already built into the formulation, there is nothing extra to buy or mix for most uses; just add water and spray, making it a long-trusted choice for roadsides, railroads, utility corridors, industrial sites, turf renovation, forestry site preparation, and habitat management.

Key Benefits

  • Surfactant included - no additional surfactant is needed or recommended, which simplifies mixing and lowers cost per acre.
  • Systemic root kill - translocates to the roots and growing points of annual and perennial weeds, brush, and trees to prevent regrowth.
  • Flexible application - labeled for broadcast, spot spray, hand-held and backpack, wiper, cut-stump, and injection or frill methods.
  • Many sites, one jug - non-crop, industrial, turf, ornamentals, parks, nurseries, forestry, and habitat management.
  • Tank-mix friendly - label-listed partners include Garlon 3A and 4, Oust XP, Escort, Arsenal, Outrider, Surflan, Princep, and 2,4-D for added residual or broadleaf and brush activity.

Technical Information

  • Active Ingredient: Glyphosate, isopropylamine salt - 41.0% (3 lb ae/gallon)
  • Formulation: Water-soluble liquid with built-in surfactant
  • Herbicide Group: 9 (EPSP synthase inhibitor)
  • EPA Reg. No.: 524-517
  • Re-Entry Interval (REI): 4 hours (WPS uses)

Use Sites & Target Vegetation

For use on: non-crop areas, industrial sites, railroads, roadsides, utility sites, parks, turf and turf renovation, ornamentals, forestry site preparation, habitat management, and non-food sites such as nurseries, Christmas tree farms, and sod and turf seed farms. Do not apply directly to water.

Controls/Suppresses: annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds including volunteer corn, shattercane, Texas panicum, sicklepod, and Spanishneedles; suppression of tough perennials such as bermudagrass, johnsongrass, Canada thistle, and velvetleaf; and woody brush and trees. See the label for the complete species list and rates by species.

Application Rates & Timing

  • Annual weeds (broadcast): 1 qt/A on weeds under 6 inches; 1.5 to 4 qt/A on taller or stressed weeds.
  • Spray-to-wet: 1/2% solution on small weeds; 1 to 2% on larger weeds.
  • Perennial weeds: rates vary by species (for example, bermudagrass at 5 qt/A, or a 2% hand-held solution). Hand-held spot treatments use 5 to 10% solutions for the toughest perennials.
  • Woody brush & trees: broadcast and hand-held rates vary by species (for example, pine at 2 to 5 qt/A or a 1 to 2% hand-held solution).
  • Cut stump: 50 to 100% solution on the freshly cut surface. Injection/frill: 50 to 100% solution at 1/25 fl oz per 2-3 inches of trunk diameter.
  • Wiper applicators: 33 to 75% solution (rope or sponge wicks) or 33 to 100% (panel or pressure-fed).
  • Turf uses: chemical mowing 6-8 fl oz/A on listed cool-season grasses; dormant turf 8-64 fl oz/A; bermudagrass release 1-3 pt/A; brome 8-16 fl oz/A and medusahead 16 fl oz/A in labeled sites.

Apply to actively growing weeds. Heavy rain soon after application can wash the product off and may require a repeat treatment. If you do add a nonionic surfactant, use 0.5% (2 qt/100 gal) of a 70%+ active product or 1% (4 qt/100 gal) of a lower-active product; adding surfactant does not allow a rate reduction. The maximum is 10.6 qt/A per year across all glyphosate products. Aerial application is allowed under the label's conditions at 3 to 25 gal/A.

Important restrictions: mix and store only in stainless steel, fiberglass, plastic, or plastic-lined steel; galvanized or unlined steel tanks react with glyphosate to release flammable hydrogen gas. For turf renovation above 3 qt/A, remove livestock before application and wait 8 weeks. Not all uses listed on the label are registered in California, so check registration status before use. Avoid drift to desirable plants, as glyphosate will injure or kill any green vegetation it contacts.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.
