Gly Star Plus Herbicide - 41% Glyphosate with Surfactant for Broad-Spectrum Weed Control

Gly Star Plus from Albaugh is a professional-grade, non-selective, systemic glyphosate herbicide formulated with 41% glyphosate as the isopropylamine (IPA) salt, equivalent to 3 lb acid equivalent per gallon (4 lb/gal as the IPA salt). It is formulated with a fully loaded surfactant system, so no additional surfactant is required when used alone, including over-the-top applications in Roundup Ready crops. Gly Star Plus provides postemergence, broad-spectrum control of annual and perennial weeds, woody brush, and trees with no soil residual activity, making it a versatile and economical foundation herbicide for a wide range of agricultural, non-crop, and vegetation management programs.

Boost Performance with Turbo by PowerAg

While Gly Star Plus includes a fully loaded surfactant system, adding Turbo from PowerAg to your spray tank can significantly improve the performance of Gly Star Plus. Turbo is a liquid ammonium sulfate (AMS) water conditioner that neutralizes antagonistic mineral cations in the spray water that can tie up glyphosate and reduce its effectiveness. By conditioning the spray mix, Turbo helps maximize glyphosate uptake and herbicide activity, especially valuable under hard water conditions or when treating tough or stress-affected weeds. Use Turbo at 1-2 quarts per 100 gallons of water in addition to Gly Star Plus for improved results.

Key Benefits

  • Fully loaded surfactant system - no additional surfactant needed when used alone, including for over-the-top Roundup Ready crop applications.
  • Systemic, postemergence activity - absorbed through foliage and translocated through the plant to the root system for thorough control of both top growth and underground plant parts.
  • Broad-spectrum, non-selective control - controls a wide range of annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, woody brush, and trees across many use sites.
  • No soil residual - binds tightly to soil particles after application with no soil activity; weeds must be present at application, allowing replanting flexibility.
  • Roundup Ready crop compatible - labeled for over-the-top selective weed control in Roundup Ready corn, soybeans, cotton, canola, alfalfa, sugarbeets, and other specified glyphosate-tolerant crops.
  • Tank-mix compatible - can be combined with 2,4-D, dicamba, atrazine, residual herbicides, and many other labeled products for expanded spectrum or burndown programs.
  • Works better with Turbo - adding Turbo by PowerAg to the tank conditions the water, blocks mineral antagonism, and helps get more out of every gallon of Gly Star Plus.

  • Re-Entry Interval (REI): 4 hours

Use Sites & Target Vegetation

For use in/on: Roundup Ready and specified glyphosate-tolerant crops (corn, soybeans, cotton, canola, alfalfa, sugarbeets, and others); conventional annual and perennial crops (cereal crops, corn, cotton, grain sorghum, oilseeds, soybeans, sugarcane, vegetable crops, and more); tree, vine, and shrub crops; pastures, rangeland, CRP acres, and forage legumes; turfgrass and sod production; non-crop uses around the farmstead (trim-and-edge, chemical mowing, cut stump, habitat management); forestry and industrial sites (site preparation, railroads, roadsides, utility corridors); and a broad range of non-crop and industrial vegetation management sites as listed on the label.

Controls/Suppresses: Most annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds, woody brush, trees, and vines as listed on the label, including foxtails, barnyardgrass, crabgrass, pigweed, lambsquarters, morningglory, velvetleaf, Palmer amaranth, waterhemp, johnsongrass, quackgrass, bindweed, bermudagrass, and many others.

Application Rates & Timing

Apply postemergence to actively growing weeds using ground, aerial, or handheld equipment. Weeds must be emerged at the time of application. Apply at least 4 hours before expected rainfall or irrigation. Use higher labeled rates when weeds are large, dense, or growing in undisturbed areas:

  • Annual weeds: Generally 11-32 fl oz/acre depending on species and size; smaller weeds require lower rates. Refer to the Annual Weeds Rate Table for species-specific guidance.
  • Perennial weeds: Generally 24-64 fl oz/acre depending on species and growth stage; best control is obtained when applied at late growth stages approaching maturity.
  • Woody brush, trees & vines: Generally 48-128 fl oz/acre broadcast, or as directed cut-stump and frill treatments per the Woody Brush and Trees Rate Table.
  • Roundup Ready and glyphosate-tolerant crops: Rates and timing vary by crop and growth stage; refer to the Roundup Ready Crops section of the label for crop-specific instructions.
  • Ground application: Apply in 10-40 gallons of water per acre for most broadcast uses; see label for equipment-specific guidance.
  • Aerial application: Apply in 3-15 gallons of water per acre; see label for aerial drift management requirements.
  • Annual maximum: Do not exceed 8 quarts/acre/year for crop uses; up to 10.6 quarts/acre/year for non-crop and industrial sites.
  • Improve performance with Turbo: Adding Turbo by PowerAg (1-2 qt per 100 gal water) conditions the spray water to reduce mineral antagonism and improve glyphosate uptake. Additional surfactants may also be added; do not reduce the rate of Gly Star Plus when adding adjuvants or surfactants.

Do not mix, store, or apply in galvanized steel or unlined steel containers; reaction with these materials produces flammable hydrogen gas. Do not apply directly to water. Observe all crop-specific pre-harvest intervals, REI requirements, seed potato precautions, and state-specific restrictions as listed on the label.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE.

Why Professionals Choose Gly Star Plus

Gly Star Plus delivers reliable, broad-spectrum glyphosate performance with a fully loaded surfactant system that simplifies mixing and reduces cost compared to adding surfactant separately. Its wide crop and non-crop label, Roundup Ready compatibility, and 4-hour REI make it a dependable, economical choice for weed control across virtually any agricultural or vegetation management program, and pairing it with Turbo from PowerAg pushes its performance even further by eliminating the water chemistry issues that can hold glyphosate back.
